Filed under: Sandwiches — musingsfromthekitchen @ 5:50 pm

Makes: 4 sandwiches

Prep time: 30 minutes

  • 1 cup cheez whiz cheese dip
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless beef rib-eye steak sliced into 1/4 in stips
  • salt and pepper
  • You can add sliced green peppers, mushrooms or use provolone cheese

Preheat oven to 400

Warm cheese dip with milk in a small saucepan. Set aside and keep warm.

Slice the sub rolls and butter them inside. Put on a baking sheet and bake until bread is lightly toasted ( you may also use the broiler).  Sauté onions in 1 tbsp. olive oil until they are almost soft. Set aside. Fry meat in 1 tbsp. olive oil until brown on both sides. Season with salt and pepper.  Add the onions. Lay this on your sub roll and pour the cheese over the top. Broil just a little bit to brown the cheese. Enjoy!

NOTE: I did not use the cheez whiz. I used provolonve cheese. Also I added some green peppers to ours.
